Sisterhood

Want to get involved with Temple Beth Haverim? Join Sisterhood and you most certainly will. We run the Maj Jon league and help run the Temple gift shop and promote camaraderie among our members. Other activities have included creating homemade Seder plates, holiday craft lessons, participation in wine tastings, and Tupperware® parties! We work hard for our Temple and for our community and we have fun doing so. If this sounds good to you, we would love to have you join our ranks. And yes, we are affiliated with The National Women's League for Conservative Judaism.

Young Seniors

Formerly known as the 50s Plus Club and Hai Timers, we are a dynamic group of senior members. We lend our expertise to the Temple and, in the process, have a good time. Our programs consist of lectures, films, field trips, and special events. We promote camaraderie among our members and work hard for the Temple. We are a friendly group and are open to both Temple members and their parents. Our membership is open to singles as well as couples. Everyone 60 years and older come join us.

Havurah

A havurah is a group of adult Temple members who meet, usually at their own discretion, with or without children, to share Jewish learning and experiences in an "extended family" setting. Each havurah decides its own focus. Some concentrate on religious activities, whereas some are strictly social. Each group decides how often it will meet and whether it will emphasize family activities or concentrate on adult activities. In other words, groups are autonomous but tied to Temple members. The havurah experience is for people who are seeking a smaller scale Jewish community and are willing to give and work towards building this unique communal bond.

Each havurah decides its programs based on its own needs. One havurah might be involved in a self-taught study unit on the Torah while another may be going on a weekend to Palm Springs and another may be planning a picnic with their kids. Some havurahs do holiday dinners together and are there to help one another in good times and bad.
